Workshop on ‘Culturally Connected Compassionate Community’ for Tibetan Caregivers of Elderly Peoples

Dharamshala: CTA’s Department of Home and Department of Health jointly organised a workshop on ‘Culturally Connected Compassionate Community’ for Tibetan caregivers of elderly peoples from 27 June to 1 July.

Secretary Tsewang Dolma Shosur of the Home Department and Secretary Palden Dhondup of the Health Department attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guests, along with Director Geshe Lhakdor from Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA) and Doctor Lobsang Tsering as the instructors of the five-day long workshop.

The workshop was also taken part by additional secretaries and joint secretaries of the two departments, concerned staff, nurses and healthcare workers. A total of 11 nurses, caregivers and healthcare workers from 12 old age homes incorporated under the Department of Home and 15 nurses from 15 different branch hospitals of the Department of Health participated in the first ever Geriatric Care workshop.

The five-day workshop on ‘Culturally Connected Compassionate Community’ was funded by USAID.
