Dharamshala: Bir Dege Settlement Office held the handing-taking over ceremony for the outgoing and new Settlement Officers, Sey Cheme Dorje Jhagoetsang and Mr. Tsering Phuntsok Lomotsang respectively.

The brief ceremony was witnessed by Mrs. Pema Youdon (Deputy Secretary), Tibetan Settlement Officer of Nangchen Tibetan Settlement Bir & Chauntra. In attendance were Mr. Pema Wangyal, Chairman of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement and staff of Bir Dege Settlement Office.

Settlement Officers of Bir Dege Settlement are being elected by its people. The outgoing Settlement Officer Sey Cheme Dorje Jhagoetsang has served two terms in the office. He is also the incumbent President of Tibetan Khampa Industrial Society aka TKIS, Dege Division.
