Dorjee Rigzin Takes Charge as Tibetan Settlement Officer of Miao Choepheling Settlement

Miao: Dorje Rigzin took charge as the new Settlement Officer of Choepheling Tibetan settlement in Miao, Arunachal Pradesh on 16 December. A brief handover ceremony was between Office Secretary Tenzin Rangdol who was officiating as the interim settlement officer and the new incoming settlement officer Dorje Rigzin from 16 – 17 December.

The handover ceremony was attended by Chairman and members of Local Tibetan Assembly, Chairman and executive members of Regional Freedom Movement- BRDL, Chairman and Secretary of Cooperative Society, Headmaster STS Miao, Respective Leaders of Five Camps, President of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Women’s Association and representative from Ex- Army Welfare Association Miao.

New Settlement Officer had officially joined the office on 16 December 2021 as the 26th Tibetan Settlement Officer since the inception of Choephelling Miao in early 1962.

Mr. Tenzin Namgyal, Tezu Dharyeling Tibetan Settlement Officer was the official representative on behalf of Department of Home, CTA and had witnessed overseeing the exchange of official records.

Handing taking ceremony was concluded with meeting with general public in the community hall where office secretary had read out some of the projects completed on ground and other pending assignments being observed by the settlement office. The new Settlement officer also gave his first speech after the Witness, representing Department of Home informed the residents and heads of the settlement regarding the ceremony.
