Darjeeling Tibetan Settlement Officer Concludes Official Four-day Tour

Darjeeling: Tsewang Phuntsok, the Tibetan Settlement Officer, Darjeeling, paid his maiden official visit to the scattered Tibetan communities under the jurisdiction of the office. He was accompanied by newly appointed office Accountant Ms. Lobsang Dolker, and Secretary Mr. Tenzin Tsultem.

The Settlement Officer met the respective community leaders and discussed various issues. He also briefed the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination drive for children aged between 15-18, booster shots for those aged 60 plus, and convinced them to enroll in the Tibetan Medicare System (TMS).

During the trips, the TSO team distributed face masks and Tibetan herbal tea packs (Thrulthang), and shared the contact numbers of the Covid-19 Task Force members of TSO Darjeeling to avail the facilities procured for the 3rd wave.

The trip was aimed to understand the communities for future functioning. It covered Tibetan living in Pashupati, Mirik, Sukhia, Manebhanjyang, Chitrey, Pokhriabong, Kurseong, 6 Mile, Takdah, and Lamahatta excluding nearby Ghoom, Jorebunglow, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre, and Darjeeling town areas in the State of West Bengal.

Tsewang Phuntsok took charge of TSO Darjeeling on December 27, 2021, and he concluded his four-day official tour around the end of January 2022.
