PROJECT  COMPLETION REPORT Covering the Roof top of the Staff Quarter with Tin Sheet Structure

Executive summary: The installation of tin sheet on the Sakya Puruwala Tibetan Settlement office’s Staff Quarter project has been successfully completed within the stipulated time frame. We hope to tackle following mentioned problems as per our proposal. The staff quarters at the Sakya Tibetan Settlement are exposed to severe weather conditions. During the summer, temperatures range from 38-42 °C, making indoor conditions unbearable. Additionally, the monsoon season brings heavy rainfall that leads to leaks and water damage. This proposal seeks to address these issues by covering the roof of the staff quarters with a tin sheet structure, providing necessary protection against the harsh weather conditions.

This report provides an overview of the project objective, activities performed, challenges faced, and the achieved outcomes.

  1. Project Objective: Install a new tin sheet roof that is durable and weather-resistant.

  • Project duration: 1st July to 15th August, 2024
  • Total Project Cost: ₹ 535,000/-
  • Funded by: German Aid to Tibetan, GAT
  1. Activates performed:
    1. Setup an internal project committee
    2. Communicate with contractor and sign agreement for work
    3. Contractor carry out the  constructions works
    4. Submission of report, pictures, and account statements
  1. Challenges Faced:

Occupant Disruption: Renovations inherently disrupt the normal functioning of a household. Minimizing the inconvenience to the occupants of staff quarter required meticulous planning and clear communication to manage expectations and ensure a harmonious collaboration between the construction team and the residents.

  1. Achieved Outcomes: High-quality tin sheets were meticulously installed, offering superior protection against rain, wind, and other environmental factors. The use of durable materials ensures a long-lasting solution that requires minimal maintenance over time.
  2. Conclusion: The installation project for the tin sheet roof of staff quarter has been successfully completed on 15th August 2024, resulting in aesthetically improved roofing system. The achieved outcome encompasses a series of significant improvements that have greatly contributed to the overall functionality, durability, and visual appeal of the house.
