Home Secretary visits Ravangla Tibetan Settlement

Home Secretary Palden Dhondup completed his visit to Ravangla Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement where he was accompanied by North East Tibetan Settlements Coordinator Under Secretary Tenzin Chokden.
On his arrival at Ravangla Tibetan Settlement on 25 January, he was warmly received by Settlement Officer Dorji Tsering, LTA President, BRDL, Co-op Society Secretary, Staffs and other representatives. On the following day Home Secretary Palden Dhondup inaugurated a few completed projects at Thupten Dhargyeling Monastery and community halls of camp no. 3, 4 and 7. He also inspected the surrounding areas of the settlement.
It was then followed by a public meeting where Home Secretary Palden Dhondup stressed on the importance of taking care of the settlement areas to avoid land encroachments. Under Secretary Tenzin Chokden highlighted the important points of newly amended land and housing act. On 27 January, Home Secretary departed towards Darjeeling.
