KALIMPONG: Tibetan Settlement officer of Kalimpong Ms Tenzing Dhadon greeted His Eminence the 42nd Kyabgon Gongma Trizin Ratna Vajra Rinpoche on his arrival from Bodh Gaya on 7th January.
Heads/representatives of Governmental and Non-Government organizations, heads of various monastic Institutions of Kalimpong, monks from Sakya Monastery of Kalimpong, Gangtok, Darjeeling and Kurshong, also accompanied the Settlement Officer.
The Tibetan representatives later escorted Rinpoche to Tsechen Thinley Dargayling, Sakya Monastery in Kalimpong.
Tibetan residents of Kalimpong lined up the streets leading to the Sakya Monastery with traditional offerings to greet Rinpoche. Kalimpong Gangjong Doegar performed Tashi Shoepa at Sakya Monastery.
Inside the monastery, senior reincarnated lama of Sakya monastery offered a grand ceremonial welcome to Rinpoche.
Rinpoche’s upcoming engagements in Kalimpong are as follows:
On 9 January, His Eminence will bestow Manjushri Initiation in the morning and will perform Guru Yoga Puja on 770th Nirvana Anniversary of the Great Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen in the afternoon at Sakya Monastery.
On 11 January, His Eminence will give a brief introduction to Buddhist philosophy to the general public of Kalimpong at Mani Lhakhang, after that H.E. will pay a visit to Youlo Koepai Gensokhang, Tibetan Settlement Office and Branch Mentsee Khang clinic as requested by Tibetan Settlement Officer.
On 12 January, His Eminence will bestow long live empowerment and teaching at Sakya Monastery. Rinpoche will conclude his visit on 14 January.
