Tibetan Settlement Office Darjeeling donates 1.5 lakh to West Bengal Coronavirus relief fund

Darjeeling: The Tibetan community in Darjeeling led by the Settlement Officer and the various Tibetan regional associations and Kyidugs distributed free ration and groceries to the both Tibetan and Indian destitute families in Darjeeling district.

As a token of solidarity and support for the State government’s efforts in providing humanitarian and medical relief to those affected, the Tibetan Settlement Office in Darjeeling donated Rs. 1,54,000 to the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund. The donation money was sent directly through bank payment.

Mr Tenzin Nordhen, Settlement Officer appreciated the efforts of the district administration in containing the spread of COVID-19 in Darjeeling district. So far, no cases of COVID-19 have been reported from the district.
