Tibetan Settlement Office, Shillong, held a handing taking ceremony between the incoming Settlement Officer, Mr Tenzin Samten and acting Settlement Officer, Secretary Ms. Choedon. The ceremony was attended by Member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Mrs. Tsering Dolma, Abbot of Gaden Choeling Monastery, Geshe Ngawang Palden, President of Local Tibetan Assembly, Mr. Shilog Tsering, Former Member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Yangchen  Dolkar,  Secretary of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, Mr. Sonam and President of Local Tibetan Women’s Association, Mrs. Tsekyi Lhamo.

Following the ceremony, a short introductory program was held with the local dignitaries and the members of Tibetan community in Shillong where the new settlement officer addressed the community members and likewise the dignitaries welcomed the new TSO with traditional scarfs and assured deep cooperation with the settlement office.
