Shillong Settlement Office organises TMS awareness and health talk on Coronavirus

Shillong: Tibetan Settlement Office in Shillong, organised Tibetan Medicare system enrollment and Awareness program today at the local community hall.

Settlement Officer, Mr Pema Dhondup gave a brief introduction to the program saying that it is a non-profit and charitable health plan that aims to improve public health and well-being of the Tibetan community in exile. Furthermore, he urged the general public to enrol themselves in the program to receive the benefits.

Secretary Tenzin Yangchen discussed the enrollment process, claim process, plan coverage, contribution, benefits and other important aspects of the program.

After the awareness program, as per advised by the Settlement Office, Doctor Tenzin Tsomo from Tibetan medical and Astro institute, Mentseekhang gave a health talk on the Coronavirus which is spreading rapidly in some parts of the world including India. The doctor highlighted some dos and don’ts to prevent oneself from getting infected with such diseases. The program concluded after the question-answer session.
