Puruwala Tibetan Settlement Office celebrated the 75th Indian Independence Day

Puruwala Tibetan Settlement office celebrated 75th Independence Day Eve on 14th August 2022 at Sakya Tibetan Settlement Hall. Mr. Kunal Angrish (DFO) Paonta Sahib was the Chief Guest of the day, along with other guests from Abbot of Sakya Tibetan Institute Puruwala, Village Pardhan, Indo Tibetan Friendship members, Indian officials, Tibetan officials and staffs were the other guests with Tibetan settlers and school children were also in attendance.

Official function started with the hoisting of the Indian National flag by the Chief Guest followed by Indian national anthem with the Puruwala Sambhota School band.

Puruwala Tibetan Settlement Officer Mr. Tenzin Lekshey welcomed the gathering and thanked the Indian Government and the public for their unwavering support and generous hospitality towards the Tibetans living in India.

Chief Guest Mr. Kunal addressed the gathering and said that Tibetans are India’s special guest (Atithi Devo Bhawa) and true friends of India.

The celebration was followed by giving mementos to the Chief Guest by Abbot of the Sakya Tibetan Institute Puruwalas as a token of gratitude. Puruwala Sambhota School children performed number of Tibetan cultural dances and Hindi patriotic songs. The celebration concluded with a thank you note by Mr. Tenzin Kunga, Secretary of the Sakya Tibetan society.
