Ladakh Settlement Office contributes Rs 5.7 lakh to Ladakh UT Coronavirus fund

Leh Ladakh: Mr Tseten Wangchuk, Chief Representative Officer, Sonamling Tibetan Settlement Ladakh donated a sum of 5,76,365 rupees to Shri Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/Secretary of Health, Administration of UT Ladakh as a gesture of participation and solidarity in the UT’s fight against the COVID-10 pandemic.

Mr Wangchuk thanked frontline health workers and administration for working tirelessly towards the recovery of COVID-19 patients in Ladakh and also apprised him that Tibetans and Tibetan monasteries in Ladakh are observing prayers praying for a speedy resolution to the COVID-19 crisis.

Mr Wangchuk also extended sincere gratitude to the UT administration and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council for the supply of vegetables and essential commodities to Tibetan refugee settlements. Due to the coronavirus situation, many residents in Ladakh have been facing a shortage of essential commodities and vegetables.

During the 21-day lockdown period, the Chief Representative Office distributed rations to 25 Tibetan destitute, elders and wagers. The CRO will continue the distribution of ration to remaining 55 destitute in the following days.
