Dehradun: As per the ongoing visitation and assessment program, Home kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang of the Central Tibetan Administration visited the Tibetan settlements in and around Dehradun.
This morning, Kalon visited the Tibetan Women’s Handicraft Centre in Rajpur and addressed the concerns of the general public while discussing the challenges and problems faced by them.
Addressing the gathering, Kalon said, “In order for any welfare project to become successful, the public particularly the youth must step forward and address the challenges”.
Later that day, Kalon visited Dekyiling Home School and toured around the campus premises. The school was founded in 1980 under the jurisdiction of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society. Only recently, the school was handed over to Tibetan Homes Foundation. Currently, there are around 230 students enrolled in the school.
Following his visit to the school, Kalon visited and checked the Dekyiling reservoir project and afterward held a meeting with Settlement Officer Norbu over the prevailing concerns of the residents.
