Farewell Ceremony held in honor of the outgoing Home Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang

A brief farewell ceremony was held in honor of the outgoing Home Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang on 2nd June 2021 attended by the Deputy Chairman of Central Tibetan Relief committee, Dr. Kunchok Tsundue as the guest of honor. Kalon Sonam Topgyal has served for more than 40 years of his life as a civil servant of CTA in capacities varying from working as a staff in the settlement office to later shouldering the responsibility of a settlement officer for a period of time. Kalon has served for more than 10 years in Department of Home, CTA first as the Executive Secretary and then from 1st June 2016 onward as the Home minister till 26th May 2021.

The official ceremony started at 10 am followed by a farewell note given by the Executive Secretary Tsewang Dolma Shosur in gratitude of the years of service and leadership of Kalon which has helped to shape the Tibetan settlements in becoming self reliant and from whose vision the Tibetan community exile as a whole has benefited. Kalon was presented with a memento on behalf of all the staff of Home Department.

Kalon then gave a farewell speech expressing his joy for having served for more than 40 years in Central Tibetan Administration and urged the present staff to take inspiration and work diligently for the welfare of the Tibetan community and to fulfill the wishes of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama.
