This is with reference to the official directive of the 16th Kashag dated 29th May 2021, to provide emergency relief assistance to the vulnerable households, destitute elders and disabled youth who have been affected by the 2nd wave of COVID pandemic within Tibetan communities in India, Nepal and Bhutan. The Department of Home subsequently has directed all the settlement officers to assess the situation thoroughly and submit the list of vulnerable households who were affected by the Pandemic.
The financial impact of COVID has been especially devastating for the poorest households in Tibetan settlements. Following were the list being submitted under vulnerable households collected through respective settlement officers:

At the same time, the Department of Home has made an appeal through various donors and association for the COVID emergency fund. Owing to which till date we were able to raise a total fund of INR 29.8 million and the details of the same are as follow:

COVID Emergency Subsistence relief @Rs. 10,000 per household has been released within 43 settlements where 787 households in Nepal, 30 households in Bhutan and 1539 households in India with total 2,336 households in the form of direct cash assistance as an emergency relief. Emergency cash relief for the remaining 251 households from India will be released soon. The overall donors list will continue.
Additional stipend in terms of cash has also been distributed to 348 households under Poverty (Nyamthak B) category @Rs.5000 per households and remaining 255 Destitute will get this COVID relief in the days to come.
Cash assistance will help them meet the basic nutrition and financial security needs over the next several months, and prevent them from falling into deep poverty due to their inability to earn income during the pandemic.
