Additional Secretary of Home Department Concludes Official Visit to Mainpat

Tenzin Norbu, Additional Secretary of the Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration, concluded a nine-day official visit to Phendeling Tibetan settlement, Mainpat in central India from August 13 to 21, 2024, after traveling from Odisha on August 12, 2024.

This official visit was in line with the policy objectives outlined in the 16th Kashag’s vision document, aimed at initiating construction projects as soon as possible as part of the relocation program to Phendeling settlement Mainpat, and to follow up on the inspection of acquired land.

Under the relocation project to Phendeling Mainpat, a total of 57 families are confirmed for relocation. Among these, 31 families are slated for housing construction in the 2024-25 fiscal year. The visit focused on allocating and plotting for these families on the acquired land, with the goal of commencing construction work as soon as possible.

In addition to overseeing the implementation of the relocation project’s construction work, the Additional Secretary also reviewed completed, ongoing, and future projects under the administration of Mainpat Phendeling Tibetan Settlement Office, including the old age home. He assessed the necessity of future projects as well.

Accompanying Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu were Ngodup Waser, Deputy Secretary and head of the BBCC project section of the Home Department, dealing staff Dolma Choezom, Structural Engineer Tenzin Tenpa, and Architect Wangyal.
