3,800 Meter-Length Roads Built in Mundgod Tibetan Settlement with Support from Karnataka State Government

Mundgod: Secretary Palden Dhondup of the Department of Home (DoH), inaugurated the newly built roads in Mundgod Tibetan Settlement earlier this morning as part of his ongoing official visit to the Tibetan settlement in south India.

Under the generous funding of INR 200 Lakhs from the Public Work Development, a 1,950-meter-long road was laid around Drepung Monastery, and another road (1,850 meter) connecting the settlement’s camp number 3 to 9 was also built with the support of INR 94 Lakhs from the Rural Development & Panchayat Raj of the state government.

Along with the event’s chief guest Secretary Palden Dhondup, the road inauguration was also attended by Chief Representative Officer Jigme Tsultrim, Settlement Officer Lhakpa Dolma, Joint Secretary Tenzin Kunsang (DoH), the road construction project team and prominent members of the Mundgod Tibetan Settlement.
