Home Kalon Pays Courtesy Visit to Deputy Commissioner of Kangra and Tehsildar in Dharamshala

Dharamsala, 5 October 2026: Home Kalon Mr. Palden Dhondup of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) paid a courtesy visit to Shri Hemraj Bairwa, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kangra District and Shri Rahul Sharma, Tehsildar cum Executive Magistrate at their offices in Dharamshala. The visit marked Home Kalon’s Second visit to the district administration offices after assuming charge as Kalon of the Department of Home, CTA.

During the meetings, the Home Kalon expressed his gratitude and sincere appreciation to the district administration for its continued support to the Tibetan community living in and around Dharamshala.

He particularly thanked the district administration for its support and assistance in facilitating the smooth transfer of land from His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Central Tibetan Relief Committee (CTRC).

He also expressed his hope for continued support and close coordination between the district administration and the Tibetan community in the years ahead.

As a token of greetings and appreciation, the Home Kalon, together with Mr. Jamphel Lhundup, Secretary of the Gaden Phodrang Trust, presented traditional Tibetan khatags and copies of the book Beyond Religion, along with statues of Tara and Buddha, to Shri Hemraj Bairwa and Shri Rahul Sharma, respectively.

Also present during the visits were Mr. Kunchok Migmar Tibetan Settlement Officer, Dharamsala, Architect Mr. Amardeep and Advocate Mr. Pankaj Sood.
