23rd September, 2026 : As per the Kashag announcement, after a meeting between the Settlement Office, Local Tibetan Assembly Members and Camp Leaders, Kham Kathok Tibetan Settlement, Sataun decided to observe the Tibetan National Identity Preservation Week from 23rd September to 29th September. 

The main program was held on 23rd September, 2026. The monks of Kathok Nyingma Monastery and Residents of the settlement wearing Tibetan tradional dress gathered on 08:30 am and held a tradional sangsol. Thereafter, everyone gathered in the society hall for a brief speech by the Settlement Officer, Mrs. Ugen Choedon la who recited the Kashag announcement and the program details for the week. 

A short video was played detailing the advantages of eating Tsampa. Following the video, everyone gathered outside to play games. The first one was Tsampa making competition. The monks and the residents then played series of games including; marble in spoon racing, tug of war (rope-pulling), coloring contests, handwriting contests, tsampa passing competition, Tibetan dice game (para-sho). The winners were awarded tsampa as prize. 

The main program concluded with gorshey and a group photo.
