1. To mark the Tibetan National Identity Preservation Week, the Chief Representative Office, CTA, Bengaluru organised a series of programmes on 23 September 2026. At 9:30 AM on White Wednesday (Lhakar), students and community members gathered for a morning prayer session that highlighted a shared commitment to preserving and promoting their rich cultural heritage.

2. In the evening, a Gala Dinner and Talk Series was organized at the Bowring Institute in Bengaluru from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

3. The programme was graced by following invited distinguished guests :-

a) Shri Harshvardhan Umre IRS, Former Commissioner of Custom & GST, Government of India

b) Shri Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Former Ambassador.

c) Fr. Rev. Victor Lobo, Vice Chancellor of St. Joseph University.

d) Shri. Madhan Gopal Krishna, IAS (Retd.), Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Environment, Government of Karnataka.

e) Shri Kishan Singh Sugara, IFS (Retd.), Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Karnataka

4. A significant highlight of the programme was the participation of selected college students from the Tibetan Youth Hostel, Bengaluru, and the Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Studies. The students delivered insightful talks highlighting the richness and distinctiveness of Tibetan culture, language, traditions, and religious heritage.

5. Through their presentations, the young speakers underscored the vital responsibility of the younger generation in safeguarding, nurturing, and carrying forward Tibet’s rich cultural and linguistic heritage. They also emphasized the importance of preserving Tibetan identity and ensuring that its traditions and values continue to be cherished by future generations.
