At the invitation of the Central Executive Committee of the Ngari Chithun Association, Home Kalon Palden Dhondup attended the inaugural ceremony of the 20th Working Committee Meeting of the Ngari Chithun Association in Kullu-Manali as the Chief Guest.

The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Gonpo Dhundup, Member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, as the Special Guest. Other dignitaries and attendees included former Himachal Pradesh MLA Shri Ravi Thakur; the President and Vice President of the Ngari Chithun Association; the Chairman of the Kullu Palrabling Local Tibetan Assembly; the Settlement Officer; representatives of various local organizations; participants; and members of the Tibetan Ngari community.

In his keynote address, Kalon Palden Dhondup emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding Tibetan identity, language, and culture. He called upon the community to remain united and continue contributing to the welfare of the Tibetan people and the just cause of Tibet.

During the visit, the Kalon visited 15 Mile Tibetan Settlement, Sambhota Tibetan School (Manali), Manali Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement, Bhuntar Tibetan Settlement, and Kullu Palrabling Tibetan Settlement, where he addressed public gatherings in the community halls, briefed the public on the Department of Home’s ongoing initiatives, listened to their concerns, and responded to questions raised by community members.

On his return journey to Dharamshala, the Kalon made a brief visit to Pandoh Tashiling Tibetan Settlement, where he met with the Settlement Officer and community members to discuss issues related to the settlement.

Thereafter, in Sundernagar, Mandi District, the Kalon held a meeting with Shri Rakesh Katoch, Divisional Forest Officer, Suket Forest Division, to discuss forest land issues affecting Tibetan settlements in Himachal Pradesh, with particular focus on concerns relating to the Tsopema Holy Caves (Rewalsar) area. The meeting explored practical measures to address these challenges through continued coordination between the concerned authorities and the Department of Home.

Following this, the Home Kalon visited the Tsopema Holy Caves, where he inspected the site and held discussions with the abbot and representatives of the nunnery regarding forest land issues and other challenges affecting the nunnery. Upon concluding the visit, the Home Kalon returned to Dharamshala.
