
Dharamshala: Additional Secretary Tsering Youdon has officially assumed the responsibilities of Acting Secretary of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).
A formal charge handover ceremony was held at the Department of Home to mark the transfer of responsibilities. During the ceremony, former Secretary Palden Dhondup formally handed over the charge to Acting Secretary Tsering Youdon. Secretary Dhondul Dorjee of the Department of Security attended the event as the official witness representing the Kashag.
As part of the established handover procedures, all official files, records, documents, and departmental inventories were formally transferred to the Acting Secretary. On the occasion, former Secretary Palden Dhondup congratulated Acting Secretary Tsering Youdon and conveyed his best wishes for her successful tenure in the new role.
The ceremony concluded with departmental staff offering traditional khatags to both the outgoing and incoming officials as a symbol of gratitude, respect, and goodwill.
Brief Biography of Acting Secretary Tsering Youdon
Acting Secretary Tsering Youdon was born on 7 January 1981 to Nyima Tsewang and Lhatso in Phuntsokling Tibetan Settlement, Chandagiri, Odisha. She completed her Class XII education at the Central School for Tibetans, Darjeeling, in 2000 and obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore, in 2004.
She joined the Central Tibetan Administration on 27 March 2006 as an Under Secretary in the Department of Information and International Relations and received her permanent appointment on 25 October of the same year. On 18 July 2012, she was promoted to Deputy Secretary and assigned to the History Documentation and Interim Placement Section under the Kashag, now known as the History Classification and Interim Placement Section.
She was subsequently promoted to Joint Secretary on 8 May 2019 and transferred to the Department of Health. During her service there, she was elevated to the post of Additional Secretary on 2 December 2024 and was later transferred to the Department of Home on 16 December 2024.
On 22 June 2026, she formally assumed charge as the Acting Secretary of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration.
