
Kollegal Dhondenling, April 5–7 — The Additional Secretary of the Department of Home, Mrs. Tsering Youdon, accompanied by South and Central dealing staff Ms. Ngawang Dolkar, undertook an official visit to Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement. The delegation was received by CRO Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim at Bangalore Airport before proceeding to the settlement.
Upon arrival, the officials were accorded a warm reception by heads of the settlement’s organizations during the opening ceremony of the 31st Gyalyum Chenmo Cup (GCM), which coincided with the visit.
On the first day, the delegation inspected completed projects under the financial year 2025–2026, including the construction of a community hall, village drainage systems, and internal roads, among others. In the afternoon, a meeting was held with settlement office staff from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to review administrative operations and discuss local concerns.
At 5:00 p.m., the officials attended the opening ceremony of the Gyalyum Chenmo Cup, where Mrs. Tsering Youdon served as the Chief Guest and addressed the participants.
On April 6, the delegation visited the settlement farm along with Agricultural Extension Officer Mr. Jamyang and ORTC Director Mr. Tsewang to review agricultural activities. Later in the afternoon, Mrs. Tsering Youdon interacted with GCM participants and highlighted the benefits of the Youth Empowerment Support (YES+) program, encouraging Tibetan youth to explore opportunities for skill development and community engagement.
At 2:00 p.m., the officials visited sites identified for upcoming projects under the financial year 2026–2027, accompanied by the Settlement Officer and the settlement accountant. They also inspected a site related to ongoing land disputes among settlers.
In the evening, the delegation inspected the Old People’s Home in the settlement, reviewing its facilities and overall condition.
The official tour of Kollegal Dhondenling concluded on April 7, following which the delegation departed for Hunsur Rabgyaling Settlement.
