Official Visit of Department of Home Officials to Miao Choephelling Tibetan Settlement

Miao, Arunachal Pradesh, March 2/: The Additional Secretary of the Department of Home, Mr. Thupten Tsering, along with Northeast Section Head Uma Thinlay, visited the Miao Choephelling  Tibetan settlement, Arunachal Pradesh, on an official tour, where they were accorded a warm welcome by heads of settlements’ organizations.
During their visit, the officials inspected the settlement office, Choephelling Cooperative society.  And at 10:30 AM they had meeting with the ADC, Miao regarding ongoing land disputes with between local and settlement. They also toured key institutions in the region, including the old-age home, school, and Tibetan Primary Health Care Center, and reviewed the functioning of essential services.
They also further visited for assessment of complete projects, like Main Community hall under the jurisdiction of settlement office and Camp community halls. And also visited some staff quarters and old hostel in Camp No 1 for the observation for further renovation, and conducted a brief meeting with settlement office staff to assess administrative operations and address local concerns.
On March 19, Mr. Thupten Tsering and Mr. Uma Thinlay visited the site of the land dispute to better understand the situation on the ground. They also toured a demo farm which is maintained by AEO. Later, an informal meeting was held with representatives of various government and non-governmental organizations of the settlement to discuss regional issues and development initiatives.
The officials concluded their visit on March 20 and departed for Delhi.
