Project Title: Construction of community toilet
Project Location: Choephelling Tibetan Settlement, Miao
Total Cost of Project: INR 808,830
Funded by: TAWS, CTA
Work Period: 28th November, 2024 to 25th March, 2025
Project Description & Progress:
The construction of the community toilet facility was primarily driven by the need for infrastructure capable of supporting large scale gatherings at the settlement’s community hall for major functions, religious activities, and communal meetings. Lack of sanitation facilities often led to significant hygiene challenges and discomfort for guests. By establishing a sanitation block adjacent to the main gathering space, the project ensures that the settlement can host large crowds safely and with dignity, by maintaining a clean environment.
The hall is now fully equipped to support large gatherings without the strain of inadequate sanitation, allowing residents to focus on the social and cultural aspects of their functions.
