Sonamling Tibetan Settlement of Ladakh Called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta

On 13 February 2026, a delegation from the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement, Ladakh, comprising Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner Mr. Pema Sangpo; Deputy Speaker of the Local Tibetan Assembly Mr. Lobsang Nyendak; and Chief Representative Officer (CRO) Mr. Tashi Dhondup, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, at Lok Niwas.

During the meeting, the delegation presented a Thangka depicting the revered Potala Palace, the traditional residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor as a gesture of respect, goodwill and gratitude.

The delegation discussed important matters concerning the Tibetan community in Ladakh, requesting to seek financial budget allocation in the District Capex Budget to promote community welfare and development. The Chief Representative Officer also presented a copy of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy, 2014, issued by the Ministry of Home Affair, for the kind reference and consideration of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.

 Shri Kavinder Gupta assured the delegation of his continued support and cooperation in addressing the concerns of the Tibetan community in Ladakh and reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and development of the Tibetan community in the region.
