Bir Tibetan Society Inaugurates New Office Building in Presence of CTA Home Department Secretary

On Wednesday, 11th February 2026, the new office building of the Bir Tibetan Society was inaugurated by Mr. Palden Dhondup, Secretary, Department of Home in presence of Additional Secretary, Miss Tashi Dickey la and representatives of the offices and organizations of the three settlements.

The Inauguration ceremony began with prayers by Khenpo of the Diru Sakya Monastery and cutting of the ribbon followed by the chief guest. After visiting the new office building, a short public gathering was held where settlement officer Mr Karma Namgyal gave brief introduction to the project evolution and on behalf of the settlement offices and public extended gratitude to the CTA for the funding and incessant guidance throughout the project implementation. Local Tibetan assembly chairman Mr. Tsewang Rabgyal also addressed the function and conveyed the same message of gratitude to CTA and home Department for embracing the need and alleviating it.

Kungoe Palden Dhondup la appreciated the good work and was overwhelmed to witness young generation taking responsibility in the settlement and emphasized to take responsibility in future. He also talked about Central Tibetan Administration’s condemnation of ‘Epstein File’ and urged Tibetan to be very vigilant and cautious of misinformation spreading in social medias aiming to tarnish His Holiness’s reputation.

The ceremony was concluded with thank you souvenir to the contractor and to the CTA, Department of Home and staff who supported the successful implementation of this project.
