Report on the Inauguration of the Barista Course (3rd Batch)

On 15th January 2026, the Tibetan Career Centre (TCC) successfully inaugurated a new batch of the Barista Course. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of the Secretary of the Department of Home Kongo Palden Dhondup la, along with Additional Secretary Ms. Tashi Deckyi La and YES+ Officer Mr. Sonam Tashi La.

A total of 10 trainees were enrolled in this batch. Most of the trainees hailed from Bylakuppe and Ladakh, showing a diverse regional representation. The session commenced with a warm welcome and greeting by the Head Consultant of TCC, who introduced the objectives of the training program.

This was followed by an introduction session in which each trainee shared their name and objective for enrolling in the Barista course. Subsequently, Kungo La addressed the trainees, offering valuable insights on responsible leadership, emphasizing that leadership does not depend on holding a high position, but begins from the grassroots level. He stressed the importance of being responsible and morally upright citizens. He also advised trainees to respect the trainer, regardless of age, acknowledging their greater knowledge and experience, and to make the most of the learning opportunity. Finally, he highlighted the importance of honesty, a clean heart, personal hygiene, and maintaining a pleasant smile while serving customers in the future.

Mr. Sonam Tashi La then spoke on introduction of YES+ and programs such as skill-based training, job readiness workshop, skills for entrepreneurship, and enterprise loan and scholarship opportunities available after the completion of the training.

The session then proceeded with the introduction of the Barista Trainer, Mr. Tenzin Ngawang La, whom the trainees warmly welcomed. Following the formal inauguration, the training classes officially commenced, marking the beginning of the Barista course.

The inauguration program concluded successfully, setting a positive and motivating tone for the trainees as they embark on their skill development journey.
