PROJECT DESCRIPTION & PROGRESS:

The proposal for the construction of a cement concrete road at A-Village, Hunsur Tibetan Settlement, arose because A-Village is centrally located between the Old Age Home and Ogyenling Monastery. The villagers, especially senior citizens who circumambulate the monastery and the elders residing in the Old Age Home, need to pass through the road in A-Village. However, during the rainy season, their mobility is affected as the muddy road becomes slippery, often leading to bike accidents and posing risks to the elderly.

With a total budget of INR 60,54,412 for the construction, the camp leader and project committee decided to undertake the work through a labour contract, starting on 5th September 2025, with an expected completion by mid-October. This cement concrete road will be of immense help to the villagers, especially the elders residing in the Old Age Home, the monks of Ogyenling Monastery, and visitors to the monastery will benefit from it.
