The iron fence surrounding Kham Kathok Tibetan Settlement Office, located right above the Clinic & Nurse quarters, was in a very poor condition resulting in livestock like cows and other stray animals getting into the office area. This would lead to deteriorating the environment within the office area with dungs and other destruction caused by the animals everywhere.
Project Progress
Considering the potential long-term consequences and the severity of the issue, Sataun settlement office appealed to the German donor for funding support for the boundary wall project. With funding from GAT and project approval secured, a tender was issued on 27th September, and the quotation from contractor Mr. Shatrudhan Das, totaling Rs. 1, 96,000, was selected by the project committee. After finalizing the legal agreement, the construction of the boundary wall commenced on 10th October 2024.
Project Conclusion
The project was completed on 25th November, 2024. The completed wall completely closes off the office area and prevents livestock and other animals from entering the office area. It also helps with maintaining the Clinic and Nurse Quarters surrounding clean and neat.
We are very thankful for GAT for sponsoring this project and Dept. of Home, CTA for all the help in coordinating this project.
