Leh, Ladakh: On 14 July 2024, as part of his ongoing official visits to Ladakh, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the incumbent Kalon (Minister) of the Department of Home, undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the Tibetan community in the Sonamling settlement.
Throughout the day, Sikyong visited each of the twelve Tibetan camps in Sonamling, overseeing ongoing projects, reviewing completed initiatives by the Department of Home (CTA), and attending to the concerns of Tibetan residents.
Additionally, Sikyong visited the Tibetan branch Men-tsee-khang in Leh’s main market and subsequently toured the Tibetan refugee market, engaging directly with the community.
Throughout his day-long programmes, Sikyong was accompanied by Chief Representative Officer Dhondup Tashi and Joint Secretary Tashi Dickey from the Department of Home, along with Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner Pema Sangpo, President of the Local Tibetan Assembly Dhondup Tsering, and Director of Ladakh TCV Tenzin Rabten, among others.
