Sikyong Penpa Tsering Embarks on Official Visit to European Countries and South India

Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration is embarking on a three-week-long official tour to the Baltic States, Finland, the UK, Belgium and South India from 22 January to 18 February 2024.

After reaching Estonia from Dharamshala via Delhi, Sikyong Penpa Tsering is scheduled to undertake official engagements in Tallinn (Estonia), Helsinki (Finland), Riga (Latvia), and Vilnius (Lithuania) from 24 January to 1 February. The Office of Tibet, London has organised the first official visit of the Honourable Sikyong, His Excellency Penpa Tsering, to the three Baltic Countries and Finland from 24 January to 1 February, 2024. Itinerary of this visit includes parliamentary engagements, meeting with government officials, local Tibetans and Tibet supporters, human rights organisations, academia and a wide-range of media interviews.

His Excellency is also visiting the United Kingdom from 1 – 3 February, mainly at the invitation of the Warwick Economics Summit (WES) to speak at their annual event at the University of Warwick. This is the first time a Tibetan leader will speak about Tibet at the WES forum, a Warwick University society that has a high profile of stellar speakers – prominent and world renowned figures in the field of politics, economics, media, human rights and finance. While in the UK, Honourable Sikyong will meet with the UK-based Tibet Support Groups.

Thereafter, Sikyong will leave for Brussels to meet with the Tibetan community there.

Upon returning to India, Sikyong will attend the golden jubilee celebration of Kollegal Dhondhenling Tibetan Settlement.
