OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT:

The Internal Road Renovation project for Blocks C, D, and E at Bhuntar Tibetan Settlement was proposed and approved in the 2025-26 financial year budget. The project aimed to repair and improve the internal road infrastructure, which had been a long-standing issue affecting resident’s mobility and access. With generous funding from the Tibetan Administration Welfare Society (TAWS), the project was launched with a total sanctioned budget of ₹4, 12,932. The implementation was overseen by the local project committee in consultation with the settlement authorities.

ACTIVITY DETAILS:

  • Commencement: The project began on 21st May 2025.
  • Execution: After reviewing sealed tenders, Mr. Bhim Singh was appointed as the contractor due to his prior experience and satisfactory past work. A formal agreement was signed between the Settlement Officer (on behalf of TAWS) and the contractor.
  • Scope of Work: The project involved renovation and blacktopping of internal roads leading to Blocks C, D, and E.
  • Monitoring: The site work was regularly monitored by the camp leader and site supervisor, Mr. Sonam Yeshi. The settlement office also conducted periodic inspections to ensure transparency and quality of work.
  • Completion: The work was completed successfully within the approved budget and timeframe.

PROJECT OUTCOME:

This project directly benefited the residents of Blocks C, D, and E by improving accessibility, ensuring better transportation, and enhancing overall safety during all seasons. It addressed a long-standing concern of the community. The residents and community leaders have expressed deep gratitude for this much-needed infrastructure upgrade.

  • Community Involvement: Active involvement of the camp leader, site supervisor, and residents ensured smooth execution and accountability.
  • Timely Coordination: Clear communication between stakeholders and the contractor helped complete the project efficiently.
