The Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has successfully completed the construction of new houses for 27 underprivileged nomadic households in Maque and Chushul. The project was carried out under the department’s welfare initiatives with 100% funding assistance.
As per the directive of Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the inauguration ceremony took place at 10:30 a.m. on 29 January 2025. Home Secretary Palden Dhondup officially inaugurated the project in the presence of Additional Secretary Tashi Dickey, Tibetan Local Justice Commissioner Pema Sangpo, Chief Representative Officer (CRO) Dhondup Tashi, CRO staff members, camp leaders (Gya-pon) and members of the local project committee.
This initiative reflects the Department of Home’s commitment to supporting Tibetan nomadic communities and improving their living conditions.
