Lugsam Tibetan Settlement was visited by the Vimala Association, UBI and the Wise Dana Foundation from Italy from 4th November 2024 to 9th November 2024. The group monitored the previous year’s projects that were completed and assessed the needs of new projects of the Settlement.
Previously, they have funded projects such as housing for the poor, construction of shops, restaurants and toilet facilities at camp no 7, the Construction of a multipurpose hall and renovation of a toilet, Painting and roofing for STS Guelladhala.
There was a total 30 members from the 3 different associations and foundations led by Ms. Debbie Carrani, President of Vimala Associations, and Mr. Fillipo Scianna, President of Unione Biddhista Italiana (UBI) and Ms. Enrica Lobina, General Director of Wise dana Foundation. The group visited Settlement offices, Monastic institutions, Schools, Hospitals and old age homes of Lugsam Samdupling Tibetan Settlement.
The Wise Dana Foundation also discussed with Settlement officers regarding the BBCC project and visited the site arranged for the project.
A joint dinner was hosted by offices of Lugsam, TDL, Tibetan Cooperative Society of TDL, SOS TCV Bylakuppe and Tsojhe Hospital for dignitaries and guests on the evening of 9th November 2024. Cultural dance performances were also performed by Students of SOS TCV Bylakuppe, STS Bylakuppe and STS CVP Bylakuppe. Mementos were presented to the guest to show our appreciation and gratitude for their generous funding and support for the Settlement.
