Dharamshala, 31 March 2026: Sikyong Penpa Tsering on Tuesday officially opened newly built residential quarters at Gangchen Kyishong, designated for the Secretary, Joint Secretaries, and Additional Secretaries of the Central Tibetan Administration. The project was undertaken by the Tibetan Administration Welfare Society under the Department of Home as part of its continued focus on improving staff welfare and housing infrastructure.
The inauguration began with a short prayer ritual led by monks from Nechung Monastery, after which the Sikyong formally inaugurated the buildings. He then toured the premises along with senior CTA officials, reviewing the newly constructed quarters and related facilities. The inspection allowed for an assessment of the overall quality and preparedness of the accommodations for senior staff members.
The programme concluded with a simple tea gathering hosted by Home Secretary Palden Dhondup. On the occasion, the Sikyong offered ceremonial khatas as a token of appreciation to government contractor Puran Chand and architect Amardeep, recognizing their contributions toward the successful completion of the housing project.
