 Project Description & Progress:

The RCC Retaining Wall construction project has been successfully completed, effectively addressing the critical erosion threat to the natural spring water source that serves OPH, TSO Staff Quarters, and the Mentsee-Khang Clinic. The completed structure spans 90 foot long wall, with a uniform height of 8 feet above ground and 2.5 feet below ground, providing robust protection against potential natural disasters and ensuring the long-term security of this vital water resource.

This project represents a significant milestone in safeguarding the community’s water supply. The reinforced cement concrete retaining wall protects the spring site from further erosion and mitigates the risk of water shortages that could have severely impacted the daily operations and well-being of residents and patients who depend on this essential resource.

The successful completion of this project would not have been possible without the generous financial support of LTDM, France, through the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Their commitment to infrastructure development and community welfare has enabled us to secure this critical natural resource for both current and future generations.

With the retaining wall now in place, the natural spring water source is well protected from soil erosion, ensuring a continued and reliable water supply to all beneficiaries. We remain committed to the proper maintenance and regular monitoring of this structure to ensure its long-term effectiveness and durability.
