With the financial aid from German Aid to Tibetan (GAT), we have completed the work of roofing sheet covering the total roof area size of 364.87 Sq.m. with metal mesh (heavy duty) provided around the structure work over the prayer hall. As a of part of this porject, we have constructed RCC retaining wall and pedestal for positioning and installing 5 water tanks of 5000 liters each for rain water storage including plumbing connection layout, inlet/outlet pipe connections. After doing tank testing and commissioning during the recent heavy rain, water supply from the roof to the tank is passing well in proper stream and further enabling connection for the usage to toilets and laundry site with a help of motor pump.
This project brought immense help prolong the life of building which solved the long-standing issue of leakage and dampness, especially during monsoon and winter season, ensuring a safer and healthier living environment. Metal mesh provided around the roofing structure helped preventing the intrution of monkey inside the roof compound and installation of watertank has come into use for storing rain water for multiple cleaning purpose. GAT’s continued support reflects not only material assistance but also genuine compassion and solidarity with the Tibetan community in exile. By helping to improve the living conditions of our elders, it enables them to live with greater dignity and comfort in their twilight years.
Overall project costed Rs. 3,072,692 out of which Rs. 2,715,709 was funded by GAT and rest of the amount is borne by the Department of Home, CTA.
