A four-day official handing taking between the out-going Tibetan Settlement Officer (TSO) joint secretary Dhundup Gyalpo and the incoming TSO joint secretary Tsewang Phuntsok was held from 28th<\/sup> May to 1st<\/sup> May 2025 in the presence of witness by Joint Secretary Migmar Dorjee, representing the Department of Home, CTA, Dharamsala.<\/p>\n

On the first day, office files, documents and inventories under the custody of TSO were handed over followed by visitation to Tashi Kyil Monastery, Pal Dechen Choekorling Monastery and Mindrolling Monaster in Clement Town, Kham Lingtsang Tibetan Colony in Dehradun. The local respective Tibetan community dignitaries warmly received them with holding Tibetan traditional Khatak. \u00a0They also met with Shri. Anand Bardhan, the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n

The day two and three was continued with visit to Tibetan Homes School and Sambhota Tibetan School in Mussoorie, met with administers followed by visit to Mussoorie scattered Tibetan road site stalls, Tibetan Women Centre, Rajpur, and Tsering Dhonden Tibetan Colony. The TSOs also paid a courtesy call to Shri. Subhash Kumar, former Chief Secretary of state government of Uttarakhand, and other dignitaries.<\/p>\n

A brief official ceremony was conducted on the final day started from 9:00 AM in the morning of 01 May 2025, beginning with paying obeisance to the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the chair exchange and handing over of office seals followed by traditional Tibetan ceremonial sweeten rice and tea, and scarf offering ceremony by representatives from various Tibetan communities falling under its jurisdiction at the settlement office.<\/p>\n

The ceremony subsequently continued in the community hall of Dekyiling Tibetan Colony, in the presence of all the representative of monasteries, LTA Dekyiling speaker, and the president of TFM Dehradun, Principal of schools along with the heads\/representative of Tibetan colony and scattered Tibetan Community of in and around Dehradun and general public of Dekyiling and Gepheling Colony.<\/p>\n

The outgoing TSO Dhundup Gyalpo introduced new TSO Tsewang Phuntsok and witness Migmar Dorjee representing Dept. of Home, CTA to the public and gave his closing speech to the public. The ceremony was concluded after speeches by the new TSO Phuntsok, witness Dorjee, Pema Tenzin, President of Dekyiling Local Tibetan Assembly and vote of thanks by Tenzin Woeser, office secretary of TSO Dehradun.<\/p>\n
