\"\"On March 5,2025, the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement Officer,Ravangla met with Honorable Shri Rikshal\u00a0 Dorjee Bhutia ,MLA of Burfung Constituency ,South Sikkim, to discuss key challenges faced by the residents of Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement over the years.<\/div>\n
During the discussion, the office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home affairs .Government of India .regarding the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy of 2014 was presented to the Hon’ble MLA. This Policy Outlines crucial guidelines for both the central and state government to ensure livelihood support, trade opportunities and land lease provisions for Tibetan refugees. Shri Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia assured that he would review the memorandum and extend his support whenever possible.<\/div>\n

As a token of respect and gratitude, the hon’ble MLA was presented with a traditional Tibetan Khata and a wall hanger featuring a quote on the Preciousness of human life by His Holiness the 14th<\/sup>\u00a0Dalai Lama.<\/div>\n

Furthermore, an invitation was extended to the Hon’ble MLA for a field visit to Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement to review the ongoing road repair work initiated by the Government of Sikkim. This project was undertaken following the request of Kungoe Sikyong Penpa Tsering during his second official visit to the state. Shri Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia expressed his willingness to visit,subject to his availability , and reaffirmed his commitment to guiding and assisting the settlement whenever needed.<\/div>\n
