\"\"On Wednesday, 23 October 2024, the official handing-over ceremony was held at Gyal-Phak Tibetan Settlement between the outgoing Settlement Officer Karma Soepa Thrinley and the incoming Settlement Officer Tashi Dorje. Karma Gyaltsen, the secretary of the Kathmandu-based Office of Tibet, oversaw the handing over and taking over of charge as the representative of the Department of Home.<\/div>\n
The Settlement Officers exchanged the documents and office stationaries later that day and then visited Soyambhu to inspect the scattered Tibetan residents under the office\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/div>\n
On 24 October, a formal gathering was held in the attendance of the Presidents of the Local Tibetan Assemblies of Kathmandu and Soyambhu, the President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, the Principal of Namgyal Middle Boarding School, and representatives from other regional Tibetan civil societies.<\/div>\n
