Leh, Ladakh: Sikyong Penpa Tsering arrived at the Tibetan settlement in Jangthang Hanley after departing from Koyul on 11 July 2024, where he was scheduled to inspect project sites and Tibetan Children\u2019s Village (TCV) School, address the Tibetan residents, including students, and meet with local officials the next day.<\/p>\n

To squeeze some time from his busy schedule to interact with local dignitaries to seek their assistance in enhancing the welfare of Tibetan residents, Sikyong toured the settlement to inspect housing projects of the Home Department (CTA) and other initiatives supported by CTA upon his arrival.<\/p>\n

On the subsequent day, Sikyong convened Tibetan residents and TCV students at the school auditorium to discuss the 16th Kashag\u2019s political and administrative endeavours, especially its strategies for collectively resolving the Tibet-China dispute. In addition, Sikyong expressed the current Kashag\u2019s firm commitment to fulfilling the needs of every exile-Tibetan populace and said, \u201cWe are not in a capacity to satisfy the wants of everyone.\u201d Sikyong\u2019s talk encompasses an array of political and administrative issues that he said he would discuss in detail during his address in Leh for the larger audience.<\/p>\n

Following that, Sikyong met with a group of local officials and community leaders and interacted with them to promote harmonious relations between the two communities and seek the assistance of the local authority in improving the welfare of Tibetan residents.<\/p>\n

After successful official engagements in Jangthang Hanley, Sikyong Penpa Tsering briefly stopped at the winter resident area of the Tibetan nomadic community of Jangthang Chumur and then headed towards their pastoral area near Kyagar Tso, where they currently herd their livestock, to meet and address them. He noted the grievances of Tibetan nomads and expressed his dedication to finding solutions to the rising challenges that Tibetan nomads undergo.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
