Nyoma, Ladakh: On the third day (10 July 2024) of his ongoing official visits to Ladakh, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration visited the Tibetan Settlement in Jangthang Nyoma.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival at the settlement, Sikyong was accorded a warm welcome reception from the Tibetan settlers, after which Sikyong initiated touring the residence and project site areas. Sikyong also visited the settlement\u2019s Tibetan Children\u2019s Village school and briefly interacted with the students and teachers.<\/p>\n

Later that evening, Sikyong also addressed the public at a gathering held inside the community hall, where he apprised the audience about the geopolitical and strategic importance of the Tibetan plateau and its environment, which has great potential for fostering regional harmony. It is crucial to preserve Tibet\u2019s unique cultural and linguistic heritage amid increasing restrictions and efforts to suppress Tibetan identity by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Additionally, the benefits of Tibetan Buddhist culture in promoting global peace were highlighted.<\/p>\n

Despite ongoing repression and control by the CCP, Sikyong emphasised the Central Tibetan Administration\u2019s Middle Way Approach as a pragmatic and actionable policy to address the longstanding Tibet-China conflict. Sikyong also briefly mentioned the unanimous bipartisan support for the Resolve Tibet Act in the United States Congress, underscoring its significance.<\/p>\n

On the same day, Sikyong met and interacted with local dignitaries, including SDM, Councillor, and others, to seek their assistance in improving the Tibetan resident\u2019s livelihoods.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
