Cultural Exchange Program<\/p>\n

As part of the ongoing engagement celebrating the 91st birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the CRO South Zone, in partnership with Drepung Gomang Monastery hosted a vibrant cultural exchange program at DJB Hall of Mount Carmel, Deemed to be University.<\/p>\n

The delegation, led by CRO Jigme Tsultrim, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sr,Rohini, Director; Dr.George Lekha, Principal; Prof. Alice Mathew, Head of Department, Political Science; Asst. Prof.Rimpi; Asst. Prof. Priyanka; Asst. Prof.Durga and Dr.George Dimitriv \u2013 all from Department of Political Science. Guest faculties including Dr.Lakshmi, Dean of Science Department; Dr.Kavita Singh, Dean of Research also participated to add more colour and wisdom of knowledge during the event.<\/p>\n

Distinguished guest speakers included Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Gyaltsen, Drepung Gomang Monastery, Mr. Shreeraj Gudi, Assistant Professor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Tenzin Thakpo, Sustainablity Officer who shared profound insights with the students.<\/p>\n

The event highlighted His Holiness\u2019s Four Commitments\u2014upholding human values, fostering inter religious harmony, preserving Tibetan culture and protecting the environment and revival of traditional Nalanda\u2019s wisdom of science and thought.<\/p>\n

Khensur Rinpoche emphasized the timeless relevance of these commitments, urging students to cultivate compassion, empathy and responsibility in their daily lives. His message highlighted how His Holiness\u2019s vision continues to inspire younger generations to build a more peaceful and compassionate society.<\/p>\n

Assistant Professor Shreeraj Gudi delivered an inspiring talk on the richness of Tibetan culture and its deep historical roots. He underscored how India can learn from Tibet\u2019s spiritual traditions and the resilience of the Tibetan people, stressing the importance of cultural exchange and mutual respect in strengthening ties between communities.<\/p>\n

Tenzin Thakpo spoke passionately about the urgent need to integrate sustainability into modern life. He highlighted the inseparable link between environmental conservation and the well-being of future generations, reminding the audience that caring for the planet is both a practical necessity and a moral responsibility. His reflections echoed His Holiness\u2019s vision of a compassionate and sustainable world.<\/p>\n

The program also featured a captivating performance by the Gangjong Dokar Opera Troupe, who showcased Tibet\u2019s rich traditions through cultural presentations representing all three Tibetan provinces. Their lively Snow lion Dance was especially loved and cheered by the students, leaving the audience enthralled by the vibrancy of Tibetan heritage.<\/p>\n

A mutual exchange of gifts between the CRO delegation and Mount Carmel faculty further symbolized the spirit of friendship and collaboration. The faculty members expressed deep appreciation for the CRO led team and warmly urged that more such programs be organized in the near future, recognizing their immense value in fostering cultural understanding and compassion among students.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with a renewed call to action: to live by the principles of compassion, cultural preservation and environmental stewardship. Together, the talks, performances and exchanges created a meaningful atmosphere of learning and inspiration, reminding all present that His Holiness\u2019s commitments are guiding principles for building a more compassionate, culturally enriched, and environmentally conscious society.<\/p>\n

The program concluded with Tibetan and Indian national anthem.<\/p>\n
