  1. The 91st Birthday Celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was solemnly and enthusiastically observed on 06 July 2026 at the Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Education (DLIHE) and the Tibetan Youth Hostel, Bangalore. The details of the programmes are as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    (a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Morning Programme at DLIHE<\/strong><\/p>\n

    (i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The celebration commenced with special prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The gathering also observed a two-minute silence in memory of the late Pawo Loga Rangzen, who self-immolated in New York, USA, in sacrifice for the Tibetan cause.<\/p>\n

    (ii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As a tribute to His Holiness’s compassionate vision and in support of the aspiration that His Holiness may continue to guide humanity up to the age of 130 years, a tree plantation programme was inaugurated. A total of 130 saplings<\/strong> were planted during the programme, while the remaining saplings will be planted in phases on a later date, bringing the total plantation target to 650 trees<\/strong>, comprising various species of fruit bearing and environmentally beneficial trees.<\/p>\n

    (iii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 During the programme, Shri Harsha Vardhan Umre<\/strong>, former IRS Officer and Founder of Ahimsa, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour<\/strong>. He generously sponsored all 650 saplings for the plantation drive and appreciated the initiative undertaken in honour of His Holiness the 14th<\/sup> Dalai Lama.<\/p>\n

    1. The second phase of the celebration was held at the Tibetan Youth Hostel, Bangalore, at 16:00 hours<\/strong>. The programme was intentionally scheduled in the evening to enable college students to participate after attending their academic classes.<\/li>\n
    2. The programme commenced with the reading of the official statement of the Kashag by the Chief Representative Officer (CRO), followed by a two-minute silence in memory of the late Pawo Loga Rangzen who self-immolated in New York, USA, in sacrifice for the Tibetan cause.<\/li>\n
    3. On this occasion, Mr. Lhamo Kyap<\/strong>, Member of the18th<\/sup> Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (Chitue), Central Tibetan Administration, attended the function as the Chief Guest<\/strong>. In his address, he conveyed his heartfelt greetings on the 91st birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and emphasized the importance of preserving Tibetan identity, culture, language, and the responsibility of the younger generation to uphold and advance the Tibetan cause with dedication and integrity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. The cultural segment featured traditional Tibetan dances and performances presented by college students, reflecting the rich heritage and vibrant spirit of the Tibetan community. The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting followed by a community dinner.<\/li>\n
      2. The birthday cake and dinner were generously sponsored by Acha Lhasa Dolma<\/strong> and the Tibetan Sweater Sellers’ Association, Shivajinagar, Bangalore. Their generous contribution greatly enhanced the success of the celebration and was sincerely appreciated by all participants.<\/li>\n
      3. Overall, the 91st Birthday Celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was conducted successfully in an atmosphere of devotion, unity, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the values and vision of His Holiness. The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Tibetan community, students, staff, and well-wishers, making the occasion both meaningful and memorable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
