Shimla-based Chief Representative Office solemnly observed the 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day on 10 March 2026 in Shimla. On this occasion, Shri Pritam Lal Negi, General Secretary of the Kinnaur\u2013Lahaul\u2013Spiti Bauddh Sewa Sangh, Shimla, attended the event as the Chief Guest.<\/p>\n

The program commenced at 10:10 AM with the ceremonial lighting of a traditional butter lamp by the Chief Guest, marking the formal inauguration of the event. Following this, Shri Pritam Lal Negi, together with Mr. Tashi Palden, President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, Shimla, and Mr. Lhakpa Tsering, Chief Representative Officer, Shimla, presented a Mandala and the Three Symbolic Offerings.<\/p>\n

At 10:30 AM, all attendees\u2014including teachers and students of Sambhota Tibetan School, Shimla, as well as other participants\u2014stood to sing the national anthems of India and Tibet, followed by the recitation of Mimang Langlu and Sum-Chu Drenlu.<\/p>\n

At 10:40 AM, Mr. Lhakpa Tsering, Chief Representative Officer, Shimla, read the official statement of the Kashag (Cabinet) and addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the commemoration and the responsibilities of the Tibetan people. Subsequently, Mr. Tashi Palden, President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, Shimla, read the statement issued by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.<\/p>\n

The Chief Guest, Shri Pritam Lal Negi, then delivered an address reflecting on the significance of the day and expressing solidarity with the Tibetan cause until a just resolution is achieved.<\/p>\n

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Pasang Dorjee, Section Officer of the Chief Representative Office, Shimla, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and all attendees for their participation.<\/p>\n

A peaceful march will be held this evening from Sher\u2011E\u2011Punjab Dhaba to the Deputy Commissioner Office. The march is being organized by the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association.<\/p>\n
