Inaugural Ceremony of Tibet Week 2025 Held at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU)<\/p>\n

Bengaluru, November 5, 2025 \u2014 The inaugural ceremony of Tibet Week 2025 was held today at 10:45 a.m. at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University (DSU). The event was graced by Dr. B.S. Satyanarayana, Hon\u2019ble Vice Chancellor of the university, as the Chief Guest, and Acharya Jigme Tsultrim, Chief Representative Officer of the South Zone, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), as the Honored Guest, along with other distinguished dignitaries.<\/p>\n

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the offering of traditional Tibetan Khatak and Tibet Week souvenirs to the esteemed guests by Dr. Tenzin Passang, Principal of The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education (DLIHE), as a gesture of welcome and gratitude.<\/p>\n

Following the opening ceremony, Mrs. Supriya Mathew, Vice President of International Affairs, DSU, delivered the welcome address, highlighting on the importance of nurturing the education of the heart alongside modern education. Dr. Tenzin Passang introduced the significance of Tibet Week.<\/p>\n

The Chief Guest, Dr. B.S. Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor, reflected on the loss of ancient Indian knowledge and how it has been preserved by Tibetans and Mongolians. Therefore, he emphasized the need and relevance of this cultural exchange for today\u2019s young Indians. Acharya Jigme Tsultrim followed with a talk highlighting the history and presence of Tibetan settlements across Karnataka, and the importance of such cultural exchange programs.<\/p>\n

Thereafter, the Chief Guest inaugurated the Tibet Museum exhibition along with the commencement of Mandala Puja by the venerable monks of Gyurmey Monastery at the university.<\/p>\n

Tibet Week is a multi-day cultural event organized by The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education (DLIHE), Bengaluru, dedicated to celebrating and sharing the rich cultural heritage, history, traditions, medicines, astrology, and cuisine of Tibet. The 2024 Tibet Week was hosted in collaboration with the Department of History, Bangalore University.<\/p>\n
