DETIAL REPORT OF PROGRAM HELD ON 17 OCT 2025 AT DREPUNG GOMANG<\/b><\/p>\n

MONASTERY ON EVE OF 90TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS HOLINESS THE<\/b><\/p>\n

14<\/b>TH<\/b><\/span> DALAI LAMA<\/b><\/p>\n

1. It is hereby submitted that a special program was organized on 17th October<\/p>\n

2025 at Drepung Gomang Monastery, Mundgod, to commemorate the following two<\/p>\n

significant occasions: –<\/p>\n

(a) The 90th<\/span> Birth Anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama “Year of<\/p>\n

Compassionate”<\/p>\n

(b) The 18th<\/span> Anniversary of the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal Award<\/p>\n

conferred upon His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on 17th<\/span> October 2007 at Capitol<\/p>\n

Hill, Washington D.C.<\/p>\n

2. The event was jointly organized by the Chief Representative Office (CRO),<\/p>\n

Bangalore, the Tibetan Settlement Office (TSO), Mundgod, and Drepung Gomang<\/p>\n

Monastery.<\/p>\n

3. During the celebration the following dignitaries from outside were also invited as<\/p>\n

Guest:-<\/p>\n

(a) Shri H Hanumanthappa, Secretary, Nijalingapa – Chief Guest<\/p>\n

memorial Foundation Trust Bengaluru and former<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha<\/p>\n

(b) Dr. Arnav K Anjaria, Prof. Head of Political – Guest Speaker<\/p>\n

Science Department, (Shri RR Lalan College, Bhuj<\/p>\n

Govt of Gujarat)<\/p>\n

(c) Dr Joanna Coelho, Prof, Department of Sociology – Guest Speaker<\/p>\n

(Goa University)<\/p>\n

4. It is to also intimate that the following Eminence and lay person were also<\/p>\n

attended the program:-<\/p>\n

(a) His Eminence Gaden Tri Rinpoche (Ganden Tripa)<\/p>\n

(b) Abbot of respective monastery of Mundgod<\/p>\n

(c) A large gathering of the general public\/monks of the settlement<\/span>5. The event was further enriched by a cultural performance of traditional <\/b>Tibetan<\/p>\n

dance presented by the students of Sambhota Tibetan School, Mundgod. began with an<\/p>\n

offering of prayers and ceremonial greetings to mark the auspicious occasion.<\/p>\n

6. All the invited guests delivered speeches and presentations highlighting the<\/p>\n

following:-<\/p>\n

(a) The life, vision, and global contributions of His Holiness the 14th Dalai<\/p>\n

Lama.<\/p>\n

(b) The struggles, resilience, and achievements of the Tibetan community in<\/p>\n

exile.<\/p>\n

(c) The importance of unity, education, and cultural preservation among<\/p>\n

Tibetan youth and monastic institutions.<\/p>\n

(d) The Chief Guest, Shri H. Hanumanthappa, expressed deep admiration for<\/p>\n

His Holiness\u2019s commitment to peace, non-violence, and interfaith harmony, and<\/p>\n

reaffirmed his solidarity with the Tibetan cause.<\/p>\n

7. The guest speakers shared valuable academic and sociopolitical insights on<\/p>\n

Tibet\u2019s cultural identity and the global recognition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama\u2019s<\/p>\n

leadership. The event underscored the unity, devotion, and cultural pride of the Tibetan<\/p>\n

community, both in exile and worldwide, serving as a thoughtful reflection on the<\/p>\n

continuing journey and resilience of Tibetans in exile.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/b><\/p>\n

8. The CRO, Bangalore concluded the program with a Vote of Thanks to all<\/p>\n

participants, especially the guests, for attending and supporting this wonderful<\/p>\n

celebration.<\/p>\n
