The project was undertaken to enhance the security and stability of the residential area. To safeguard against unforeseen natural disasters, a comprehensive RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) structure was constructed.<\/p>\n<p>Project Details:<\/p>\n<p>Construction Phases:<\/p>\n<p>1. Excavation and Foundation:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Excavation for the retaining wall foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Laying of foundation concrete to provide a stable base.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Reinforcement and formwork setup for retaining wall foundation.<\/p>\n<p>2. 1st Phase Storm drain:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Reinforcement and formwork setup for storm drain wall foundation measuring 128 ft parallel wall with slap covered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Erection of formwork for the parallel 7-feet high drain wall with 4feet wide.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Placement of RCC wall according to structural requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Pouring of concrete in layers, ensuring proper compaction and curing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Smooth finishing of the retaining wall surface.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; RCC slap with reinforcement of bars to according to structural requirements for slap cover.<\/p>\n<p>3. 2nd Phase Retaining wall with open storm drain:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Placement of RCC wall according to structural requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; In order to properly channel the rainwater and prevent storm water from entering the resident area, the front side RCC wall is 11 feet high and 118 feet long, while the forest side is 118 feet long and 8 feet high, with a storm drain connected to the first phase storm drain in between.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; At the entry point of water Small check dams or bearers are constructed to prevent soil erosion and the obstruction of detritus that is washed away by rainwater from the forest area into the storm drain.<\/p>\n<p>4. 3rd Phase Retaining wall:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Erection of formwork for the parallel 11-feet high RCC wall.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Placement of RCC wall according to structural requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Pouring of concrete in layers, ensuring proper compaction and curing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Smooth finishing of the retaining wall surface.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Foundation 3 feet deep with wide 3feet and top 2.5 feet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4. Finishing and Quality Checks:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Plastering and landscaping of construction area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Inspection and quality checks for structural integrity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Final touch-ups and cleanup of the construction site.<\/p>\n<p>5. Total Project Cost: Rs. 52, 10,356 and funded by TAWS through CTRC, Department of Home, CTA.<\/p>\n<p>6. Completion Date:<\/p>\n<p>The project was successfully completed on 30\/09\/2025, adhering to the planned timeline and budget.<\/p>\n<p>Project Summary:<\/p>\n<p>To safeguard against unforeseen natural disasters, a comprehensive RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) structure was constructed comprising:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Main RCC Wall: A 216-foot long wall with a uniform height of 11 feet, providing robust protection.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Connecting Wall: A 118-foot long wall connecting the main structure, with a front side height of 11 feet and a forest side height of 8 feet, both extending 116 feet in length. A 4-foot gap between these walls accommodates the storm water system.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Storm Drain: A 128-foot long storm drain with dimensions of 7 feet in height and 4 feet in width, covered with a slab for safety and durability.
