Lodrik is an organization formed by former Tibetan guerilla fighters in 1960. The elders from these camps had stayed in Mustang, Nepal, for more than a decade resisting Chinese invasion with the sole aim of regaining Tibet\u2019s freedom. The distance between each settlement ranges from 5 to 25 km.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Settlers\u2019 Livelihood<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Since Jampaling is primarily an agricultural settlement, most of the residents are farmers. However, an increasing number of people are transitioning to other occupations, such as owning restaurants, grocery stores, and other small businesses. Likewise, since Paljorling is located in city area, most of the residents are into petty businesses like selling souvenir stuffs to tourists and few have small reastaurants adjacent to the settlement. Currently, there are around 15 students and 3 staff members.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Paljorling also has a primary school called Shree <em>Manjushree<\/em> (up to class 5). There are about 24 students and 4 teaching staff members and 1 working staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><span>Health &amp; Hospital<\/span><\/strong><span>:<br \/>\nBoth Jampaling and Paljorling have one modern allopathic dispensary and one traditional Tibetan medical clinic each.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span>Monastery<\/span><\/strong><span>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Jampaling has a monastery called <em>Taklung Domsumling<\/em>, which belongs to the Kagyu sect.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Paljorling has a monastery called <em>Shang Gadhen Chokhor<\/em>, which is of the Gelug sect.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row us_custom_09d3e09f height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><h2 class=\"w-text us_custom_cd6a4a2b has_text_color\"><span class=\"w-text-h\"><span class=\"w-text-value\">Administrative setup<\/span><\/span><\/h2><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong><span>Representative<\/span><\/strong><span>:<br \/>\nThe settlement office is under the jurisdiction of the Home Department, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamsala.
